The South Longford group met on 3rd Feb and North Longford group met on 4th &#8211; all by Zoom of course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There were plenty of ideas for projects, some under way or delayed by Covid and some for development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>There were plenty of ideas for projects, some under way or delayed by Covid and some ready for development. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>From our review of the two recent workshops. We suggest that the following fledgling project proposals emerge:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Bog and River Walk<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Lower River Camlin \u2013 river \/ bog ponds development&nbsp; \/ community awareness \/ integrated river and bankside development<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>River Camlin<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Citizen Science Project:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Fish stock assessment \/ Fish passage \/ Monitoring of water quality (fauna&nbsp; and flora) \/ integrate fully with Camlin Quarter Project<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>River Shannon (Lanesborough) and Lough Ree<\/strong>:&nbsp; Outdoor Pursuits Centre as a central hub&nbsp; \u2013 use this facility for community awareness \/ angling and boating projects \/ invasive species projects \/ citizen science training<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>River Inny &#8211;&nbsp; Ballymahon to Centre Parcs<\/strong>: looped river walk \/ improve overall biodiversity \/ integrated river and bankside development \/ Interpretation boards &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Cloondara<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 canal development\u00a0 \/ community awareness \/ integrated canal and bankside development \/ Interpretation boards \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Lough Rinn<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 Community Awareness Programme&nbsp; \/ Citizen Science monitoring of the lough and the outflow to Lough Forbes \/ shore and boat based sampling of the lough \/ work with local anglers, rowing club&nbsp; &amp; local community&nbsp; to improve the biological status of the lough<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00b7&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>Fallan River Project<\/strong>&nbsp; The wolves reshaped the rivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We discussed riparian woodlands and tree planting.
