This is a review of the Camlin Catchment undertaken by ECOFACT. This study was supported by Camlin Anglers / Longford Co. Co. and Longford Waters Project /LAWPRO /IFI/ Longford Community Resources clg (LCRL). The report is important as it gathers the existing scientific and local information available for the river Camlin and this will help to inform LAWPRO’s work for the 3rd cycle of the River Basin Management Plan. It confirms the importance of the river to the replenishment of trout stocks in Lough Ree. In addition Inland Fisheries Ireland fish stock surveys will be available in early 2022. It is hoped that this will also stimulate future projects aimed at restoring the Camlin to Good Ecological Status.
